SWORD Project wins JISC Innovation Award | 12/05/2009
Congratulations to the SWORD team for being named most innovative project at the recent JISC Repositories and Preservation conference at Aston Business School, as voted for by delegates from across the whole Programme. The SWORD (Simple Web-service Offering Repository Deposit) project, led by UKOLN, has created a mechanism for repositories to deposit and receive deposits via a standard protocol, thus making it possible for different repositories and other applications to move content around more easily. SWORD has received much interest, and a growing community of active developers is building.
Intrallect is very proud to be part of this project and has implemented SWORD in intraLibrary 3.0, released in February 2009. Please read the great, non-technical article written by Sarah Currier (while she was at Intrallect) which includes case studies of various implementations of SWORD some of which include intraLibrary.
